I've been thinking of a different crafting method than gold ammys or gem cutting. Gold ammys are slow but profit and gem cutting is fast but expensive. I wanted to figure out something in between and I've come up with this.
Sapphire rings are great if you do them right. It's not afk like gold ammys are unfortunately but I think its worth it because they are twice as fast and you still make profit. here's the method.
Here's what you inventory should look like: 13 uncut sapphires, 13 gold bars, a chisel and a ring mould. This is my favourite set up for it.
The trick is to walk to the furnace in Al-Kharid furnace while cutting the sapphires. By the time you get to the furnace you should only have to cut 2-3 more gems. It's very easy to do. Just click the minimap then start cutting and it won't interrupt the walking.
Then you use a gold bar on the furnace and select the sapphire rings.
This method was getting me comfortably over 65k crafting xp/hr for about half an hour then I got lazy and got Averaged 61k/hr for the 1300 that I made yesterday slightly less than 2hours).
The prices of gold bars at the time I'm making this is stupid but I bought some for 143gp ea a few hours ago but here's the prices with gold bars at their worst.
This is 0.61gp/xp but it's normally at around 0.9-1gp/xp with it being very possible to get 65k+ xp/hr.
tip: Walk to the furnace, run back to the bank. The gold bars weigh lot so running to the furnace uses up a lot of run energy, that's why you should walk. Sapphire rings are light so you don't use a lot of run energy running back to the bank. You shouldn't ever run out of run energy using this running pattern.
